I return to write here for a multitude of reasons. Among them was inspiration derived from a conversation I had earlier today. With this in mind, prepare for a complete departure from what you were familiar with and what you knew about this site.
Today, I begin by asking you a question. Why do you believe what you believe?
Is it something you just took as so? Was it something you learned? Was it something you read? Was it cultivated through your family and maybe even your friends?
I’m not here to ask you to question what is “truth” and what is “real.” I ask you to question the origins of your beliefs. I will come back and re-visit this idea. I am eager to explore this avenue of thinking. For now, ask yourself why you believe what you believe.

Yes, today was the first business day of the New Year, and it showed today at work. It seemed a lot of clients were opening accounts for their own personal use or for their small businesses… It seems like the perfect time, I suppose. Speaking of which, I’ve seen a lot more people walking and jogging outside around my neighbourhood, which I guess is a good thing, since some are really cute!
Well, anything to keep in touch with their resolutions. As for me? I’ve been thinking of creative ways to spend my time…

Today has been a wonderful start to 2006. I’m not sure if there was something special magical in the air, or if it’s because of the lovely weather we had today (or the fact that I just got through recovering from a 72-hour sickness that my sister now has),
but I felt better, livelier, and more hopeful. I drove through Dallas today with the window down enjoying the wind. I’m not a person who makes resolutions (and I don’t plan to), so I will say that I look forward to some good changes.
Madonna: Confessions on a Dance Floor: Jump
“I haven’t got much time to waste…
It’s time to make my way.
I’m not afraid of what I’ll face,
But I’m afraid to stay.
I’m going down my road and I can make it alone.
All work and no fighting,
I’ll find a place on my own.
[Chorus]
Are you ready to jump?
Get ready to jump!
Don’t ever look back, oh baby.
Yes, I’m ready to jump.
Just take my hand,
get ready to jump.”

I’m still alive. I’ve been giving a lot of thought to this blog (although I realise it may not show).
Anyway, Texans lost yesterday by one point (against the Baltimore Ravens). Tonight, I’ll be watching the Eagles take on the Seahawks, and it’s SNOWING!
Gee… it’s hard to know for whom to root… Go Seahawks!

I know, I know. A lot has happened, so I will try to separate it into chunks, beginning with football, naturally, of course.
Well last night was a disappointing loss to the Kansas City Chiefs (45-17). I did enjoy watching it nonetheless. Later, I had a dream I was talking to Peyton Manning, congratulating him on his perfect-so-far season (10-0). When I turned back, I was consoling Tom Brady on his not-bad-but-not-great season (6-4). Crazy, huh? And David Carr was nowhere to be seen…
Good luck to the Texans when they face the St. Louis Rams at Reliant…

As I’ve started posting away in my first blog, I’ve been thinking about what I want to include, exclude, and/or consider to post. Yes, this site is called “MetroPride.” Yes, it IS about my life and living in the metroplex that is Dallas-Fort Worth. However, since a lot goes on that affects me, like politics and such, that doesn’t mean I’m not going to write about them. I suspect as I progress, I’ll be able to define and refine myself. Like I mentioned before, this is my first blog and should be viewed more as an experiment!
